Faithfulness
Galatians 5: 22-23
But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.
Let’s pray The LORD'S PRAYER but sing it instead:
Reflection:
FAITHFULNESS!
I would say this word automatically brings to our minds fidelity in a relationship, whether it is marriage or friendship. If we take these two and look at them more closely:
Firstly friendship, if you betray, so therefore become unfaithful by gossiping / theft / insult / etc., it could hurt and cause a break in the relationship and could be permanent and you or them are not under any obligation to restore it, even to the detriment of other relationships or friends.
Then we look at marriage, because it is more than a relationship. You are in fellowship with your partner, you are in communion with them. So when we think of it, that is what it is to be with JESUS through the HOLY SPIRIT to reach FATHER GOD. So when we sin and break fellowship with JESUS, we have a broken relationship. The Bible tells us we are saved for eternity. JESUS dealt with our sin problem, being spiritually dead to GOD. That is why we must be born again, our spirit is made new, but our mind and body is not. We must feed on the WORD of GOD and renew our minds so that our mind and body come in line with GOD’S WORD.
But when we do stumble and fall and we eventually confess the sin, JESUS is faithful to forgive and restore our fellowship. When we are born again the spirit imparts the fruits of the spirit in us. But it is up to us to maintain these fruits. Just like a gardener tending the vine to produce fruit, but our fruit is to last. So, the spirit in us helps us to be faithful.
My second choice of song is about the famous account in Daniel of the three being flung in the fire, and how it applies to us. It is for us to make the decision are we going to be faithful to him, when all the evidence says different, it looks like GOD has left us, does not care, we are in difficult situations or loss. But are we going to say “Even if he doesn’t I will still PRAISE HIM”?
(This song was co-written by the lead singer when he found out his son was diagnosed with autism and could not speak.*)
The third song is to give you hope and a cuddle from Daddy GOD. To let you know HE loves you more than anything, no matter what you've done. So much HE sacrificed HIS SON (THE WORD) to bring us into fellowship.
PRAYER.
Heavenly Father,
Help us to bring forth the fruit of faithfulness. Thanking you that you are always faithful, and your WORD is true and is not void of power. That you are always wanting the best for us. We lift up Carolann and all our office bearers and the family of St. Ninians, to bless them and meet their every need. All in our area of Abbeyview to be born again.
In JESUS name Amen.
STAY SAFE --- KEEP PRAYING
Remember
JESUS is LORD
